RANT - When Creating a Superhero

This RANT is about Christian comic book characters, if your going to make a Christian superhero don't make him perfect, make him have a past that's not all sunshine and rainbows. If he is perfect like Bibleman, there is, really nothing for us readers to relate to if this superhero has no struggles or past mistakes. I think a good Christian superhero should not be perfect but have some flaws, maybe he/she struggles with sin/anger whatever you can think of. This you will give your character more personalty and you can even write a story on how he deals with his imperfections. We can learn from other people's mistakes and relate, just like how we read the Bible and learn from people mistakes from the past. So remember that when your making your Christian superhero character don't make him/her perfect.

RANT - Superhero or Testimony?

Instead of creating Christian superhero comics, are testimony Christian comics a better route to take? Like The Kingstone Bible, The Cross and The Switchblade, Samson, John Harper, and Jonah, just to name a few, are comics I enjoy the most, and they are the testimony type comics. There are a few Christian superhero comics I like but I find them lacking something, and it probably all comes down to the writing, most Christian superheros comics don't impact me like the true life testimony comics do, probably because I can relate to them more, the fact that their based off true events and people lives, get to me better. Don't get me wrong though, I would love to read a really good original Christian superhero comic one day that impacts me just as much a testimony comic. A all around great comic and my favorite is Archangels: The Saga & The Fall series, it's based off real archangels from the Bible but some of the archangel characters, names and look designs are made up, so it has a mix of fact and fiction content going on. Check those comics out, you will see what I mean when I say it's a all around great comic.
